My sister and I were out playing in the rain the other evening, about two weeks ago. It had been a really interesting day-a lot of things happened that helped me to see how far I had come in life since last year. It was exciting and yet saddening at the same time. Well, while we were running around, dancing in circles and splashing in puddles, this song (Bloom) was going through my head. I'm not sure why, but it was gorgeous. This indie/folk group from Australia has some of the best harmony and the sweetest lyrics. I'll always think of my sister and that wonderful evening because of this song. Needless to say, it also reminded me of the book Peach Heaven by Yangsook Choi. One of my favorites, since before I liked Korea so much. ^^
And this song was one which just made me feel so peaceful after hearing it. The line 'And we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find' really hits home for me. Isn't it amazing how life is like that? Though you lose people, feelings, and time, and you hate it, you also find that by the end of all of that, you'll love what you find. Because eventually you'll live past all of that and find something even better. Especially at the end of life; when God's children go to heaven-we'll definitely love what we have then! But I think how it just hit me was that I can and I should try to do lots of things, even if I'm afraid of getting hurt, because after the hurt, He'll heal me. You can't live being afraid!
Bloom
In the morning when I wake
And the sun is coming through,
Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,
And you fill my head with you.
Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down?
Oh, you fill my head with pieces
Of a song I can't get out.
And the sun is coming through,
Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,
And you fill my head with you.
Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down?
Oh, you fill my head with pieces
Of a song I can't get out.
(Chorus)
Can I be close to you?
Ooh-oo-oo-ooh, ooh (simile).
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.
Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?
When the evening pulls the sun down,
And the day is almost through,
Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,
But my world is you.
Can I be close to you?
Ooh-oo-oo-ooh, ooh (simile).
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.
Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?
When the evening pulls the sun down,
And the day is almost through,
Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,
But my world is you.
Chorus x2
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
When you go, what you leave is a work of art
On my chest, on my heart
She went out to the hay in the morning grace
She went out and got lost in a tall hedge maze
Where'd you go? Where'd you go? Why'd you leave this place?
On my heart, on my face
And my love is yours but your love's not mine
So I'll go but we know I'll see you down the line
And we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find
And I'm feeling fine, we've made it to the coastline
Past all the signs of the slow decline
Live like your love wasn't meant for mine
Now you've gone, now you've gone to a different life
Til the loneliest side
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
When you go, what you leave is a work of art
On my chest, on my heart
And my love is yours but your love's not mine
So I'll go, but we know I'll see you down the line
And we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find
And oh, I'm feeling fine, we've made it to the coastline
